Manufacturing
Work centers, bills of materials, manufacturing orders and production cost.
Overview
The Manufacturing module turns raw materials into finished products and works out their cost. You write a bill of materials once per product: its components and quantities, and the operations it goes through and at which work center. Then you open a manufacturing order for the quantity you want; the system creates a work order for each operation, and when you produce it takes the components out of stock and adds the finished product.
- Work in this order: Work Center Types → Work Centers → Bills of Materials → Manufacturing Orders.
- The product you make has the type Manufactured, and its components are usually Raw Material. The type is chosen on the product screen.
- Options such as work orders, making missing components, splitting an order into batches, and the default warehouse are in Settings → Manufacturing Settings.
